Broadband Access

Broadband Access. Lack of access to technologies and the internet hurts people. Though for 20 years the world has had access to broadband and wireless internet connection, some areas in House District 17 are broadband deserts. Look at this map of broadband access in House District 17. The City of Idanha is an example of how a lack of access to broadband impacts people. Local politicians in Marion County have reported driving documents out to individuals in the small community because the internet connection is not sufficient enough to even receive attachments over email. Lack of access to internet service can negatively impact job searches, students’ ability to do homework, individuals’ ability to access online resources and information, and so much more. Addressing this issue is a priority for Paige. She is reaching out to these areas first during her campaign so people with limited access to online information can stay informed about important local and state issues. As State Representative, Paige will push for the proper resources to expand coverage and access in these areas through bringing this need to the table for discussion, advocating for proper funding, raising awareness of this critical deficit, and drafting new legislation.
